Ticking noise behind glove box area???
Hi all,
I have a 87 944S and hear clicking/ticking noise come from the glove box area. Does anybody have any idea on what could be the problem? Thanks, Ngoc |

It's probably the solenoids controlling the doors for your HVAC system. When a vac line comes loose, breaks, or leaks it can make them cycle and drive you crazy. Does it do it more when you turn on the fans, AC, or heat?

I think that was an option for the northern irish and saudi cars :)

There is a very small fan located behind the clove box that pulls air from the cabin, it is part of the climate control. The fan has a rubber hose that attaches to the little grill next to the clock just above the glove box. Over time allot of dust collects on the fan blades and can cause a slight ticking noise. To clean the fan just remove the clove box and pull the rubber hose off. I used rubbing alcohol and a q tip.
