Retrofitting Different (Better) Cooling Fans
Anyone done it? My primary fan is pretty worn out, and PCNA wants a small fortune for a new one. I checked with the rad shop, and a custom aluminum unit is around 300.
Seems like the options are to somehow refurb the fan motor, or find something the correct size to bolt in. Ideas? |
If you want to keep it OE, you can post a wanted item on PP:

Thanks, John. . .trying to avoid another used part.

Or ditch the stock setup and go aftermarket. Both of our racecars are running smaller, lighter aftermarket fans. You'd probably want 2, of course, for street use w/ traffic. But much lighter than stock, and clear up a lot of room for working in the engine bay!

924 fans
Got a source and part #.
Would like to look into for the old #27 |
We got ours from Murray's, something like a 10" fan, cost around $65-75...
