Rebuilt engines now... I must be crazy :)

This may appeal to the spec crowd more than everyone else but...
In my search for a dyno engine, I picked up a couple of other engines along the way :) One will of course be the dyno engine, one I am planning on keeping as parts, the third is getting a full rebuild: pumps, seals, gaskets, rings, bearings, etc. It will probably sit in the show room after it is finished, but if someone really toasts an engine (Sorry I didn't have this done a month ago Speedy) it will be built and ready to go.

In the end, I'll probably let it go for the cost of new parts in it plus $100, since that's how much gas was to go pick it up :)

In the mean time, I'll keep my fingers crossed that no-one ends up needing it!

I'll keep an eye out for it!

I can't bring myself to part out this engine... The cylinder walls look brand new.
The car it was in was rear-end totaled, and was babied from the day it was purchased. The guy I got it from had stacks of service paperwork on the car, which had less than 60k miles:eek:

Having been inside the engine, I would believe it! The original rubber center clutch looks almost brand new! There is almost no carbon build up on the valves, and any residue that was on the tops of the pistons wiped off! It will be a while before I get around to re-building it completely as my plate is pretty full right now getting the dyno and flowbench going. I am starting to get some good data from the flowbench though! I just need to find a day that I can set a couple of hours aside so I am benching with the same temperature and humidity for accurate results!

stay tuned :)
