What to do with a dead transmission??

As I've already announced the death of my transmission here http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=433013

My next question is what should I do with the blown up one I have. Is it worth anything to anyone besides a scrap metal salvage place? I don't have the tooling or the time to rebuild it, but it was pretty solid and quiet and shifted well before the final drive went out. Is this something someone would actually want? It's in northern VA if anyone's curious. I'd be glad to sell it dirt cheap if someone does have a use for it.

sell the 5th gear to the guys at www.porschehybrids.com
They will use the NA 5th gear in their 951 tranny to gain higher top speed and better fuel economy. I guess the 5th gear is easy to pull out from the rear of the tranny.

Send a message via AIM to 944 boy
even better, sell it to the SPEC guys. Many will drop $300 for a short 5th (gear only).

Where in Va?
I may be through there in the near future, and I can always use tranny parts.

It's in alexandria. Let me know if you decide you want it and I'll save it for ya. I have a feeling it'll either sit for awhile, or if the short 5th gear is really that desirable, I'll strip that and the rest will sit until I get around to finding a scrap yard to send it to. If I need a press to get the gears off, I definitely might as well just let it go to someone else who has one.
