Another Rim Question
I have a 1989 944 S2 with standard Design 90 (16"x7" front and 16"x8" rear) rims. I'm interested in purchasing Boxster twist style rims I found online. They're from a 2001 Boxster with 205/50/r17 front and 255/40/r17 rear. Are these compatible, or will spacers be needed? Thanks in advance.

They should bolt right up.
Putting overly-staggered tire sizes on your S2 will induce understeer. If you do any track events/performance driving, the car will be less fun to drive with 50mm difference between front and rear tires. That being said, right now my 944S is wearing 235s in front, and 265s in the rear, and I can still get the tail out easily when autocrossing. They will be fine for normal street driving. One big advantage of the Boxster wheels is a far better tire selection for 17s over your current 16s. |
