Missing options code sticker

Hiya. The options code sticker that should be under the carpet in the rear compartment is missing. I'm assuming the previous owner removed it for some silly reason. I have taken out the entire rear carpet and all spare/tools/etc and I can find no sticker. Is there another place a sticker might be located? Is there a way, based on the VIN, that I might find out the particular options? Thanks in advance.

Should be off to the side of the tail light in the center of the car. You should be able to see where it was attached at some point, unless the cars has been in an accident.

I know where it should be, it just isn't there. It looks as though the previous owner had at some point gone through the car removing various stickers and things to possibly repaint it as there is some unusual overspray in weird places. Hmmm, so I'm outta luck I suppose?

I'm pretty sure you can find out from the vin but i don't know how or where.

My S2 is also missing the sticker. I contacted the Porsche Head Office in Australia last year giving them the VIN and asking nicely for the option codes and they were very helpful. They were able to give the date of manufacture (to the day), the delivery date to the dealer (again to the day), paint code, and some - but unfortunately not all - option codes.

I am actually in New Zealand but the local Porsche office said they couldn't do it but a quick nicely worded e-mail to the next nearest country and they were happy to oblige. I think it comes down to the individual who receives the e-mail and the tone in which you ask. It is not a service they have to provide but it is certainly one that they are capable of providing from the factory data base.

Go to the main website and there is a way to order a birth certificate from der Faderland. I think it costs a hundred bucks tho.

send Ian at 944 online an email with the VIN number. He will tell you what options were on the car.

Great idea with Ian. I went ahead and emailed him and he replied with the codes he found. Thanks a million :0)

links are ok as long as they aren't to anything inappropriate.
