83 944 front spindles

Are they aluminum or steel? Sorry if this is a stupid question, im very new to 944's

Make sure you are discussing the correct part. The hub is an alloy (at least mine are), which slides over the spindle and houses the wheel bearing. I only say this because there is mass confusion regarding spindles and hubs in a different industry that I deal with...so I would like that confusion to not exist here.

The spindle is attached to the strut and lower control arm.
