Early 944 Heater Blower Motor
My heater fan or motor is turn on once the engine start or ignition key
is on. Is it suppose to turn on when I did not need it on? The switch knob is off when this happen. Any idea is helpful. |

I just took my HVAC control out, obviously including the fan knob. I did notice the other day while I was working on the car that when the key was in the accessory position the fan was running. The fan was in the off position before I removed the HVAC controls and it indeed was off.
It seemed kinda strange to me as the wire harnesses were just laying there not hooked up to anything. Maybe it has something to do with the resistor pack? Maybe the resistor pack needs some kind of signal from the switch to turn it off? Just my guess...

I found my owner's manual, it seems that Porsche Engineer design
the heater control fan to be on after the ignition is on even though the switch is turn to zero position. |
