Concerned
So as some might know my car was wrecked in a front end collision about a year ago, (new frame welded in, power steering pump clipped yada yada yada the list goes on) which brings me to my concern, I put in a cold are intake (this is prior to using the car much since the Canadian weather now is still rough) and there was a pool of oil in my intake box... is this something I should be worrying about? I have never seen this before. Another issue I have is primarily water exiting the exhaust with black oil, I thought this was because the car has sat for so long and it is "cleaning itself out" but it has occurred more then once, do note the car has not been out for a decent drive, at most driven around the block and started up every couple of days until the weather gets better. Should I be concerned or will it settle down once I start using it often.

The wet sooty exhaust is normal for a car that has sat for a while. Once you change the oil and really get it upto running temp it should clear up. As for the oil in the air box, I would look at the o-rings on the oil-air separator (the large black plastic unit where oil is added to the engine). These seals often dry out, when that happens they suck in air and you will begin to see the blowback oil accumulate in the airbox.
Hope it helps! -Nick
