Fans

I got caught in high water today, it rained like a sob, every street was flooded. As a result, the blades on my fans are now damn near gone. I had the 3 blades and was wondering if anyone who has either upgraded to the 6 blades, or someone who had some dead motors might be willing to part with their blades. This comes at a bad time for me, my business has yet to start kicking, and when it does it will be too hot to drive a car that has nubs for fan blades.

Can anyone help me out?

EDIT: Just need one blade, the other is ok.

They should work fine when they dry out.

I suggest upgrading to the 6-blade fans - they're much quieter and move a healthy volume of air. I realize the 3-blade units are "period correct" for an early car, but I prefer my ride to not sound like a hovercraft...

The upgrade is a piece of cake and 6-blade assemblies run about $50-$75 used.

Just check Ebay or the or the used parts section here, and see if anyone has any fans for sale. The 6 blade fan will bolt right into the shroud, with no modification required. I'd get a replacement 6 blade if you can, but just get whatever see/can afford.

I thought about the six blade as a replacement. The motors are fine, Jeff. The problem is the passenger side fan blade now look like the propeller on child's wind up bathtub boat.

I have a dead motor with a 3-blade. Email me at donna@afinemess.org and I'll send you the blade.
Tom.
