Installing Door Glass in Power Window Tract

I recently replaced power window motor ( used from a Mercedes) in my 924S. However, I cannot figure out the trick to getting the window back onto the rollers. I have replaced windows on other cars, but the I am having trouble with this car.

I searched various sources without luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Al

I found it easier to start by removing the inner door handle and power lock assembly, if equipped.
Arms go to the back of the door. Fold them so they are in line.
Install the motor end first into the large top hole in the door.
Be sure to have the mounting holes facing you.
It will help to have someone to help you hold the window up out of the way.
If you remove the small track from the door first then, wile a friend holds the window up for you. You can set the 2 rollers into the track of the window.
With a bit of adjustments you can get the bolts into the frame that hold it to the door. Do not tighten them yet.
Then reinstall the small track onto the roller and bolt it back to the door.
Place the window in the down position. All the way down, or after a short time you will break the motor frame due to miss- alignment.
Finally tighten all the bolts and reattach your wires to the motor.

I hope this helps
OTR

Thanks for the fast input.

I figured it out:

Tape window in upward position (clear packing tape worked great),
Remove bolts holding framework and motor,
Install rollers into window tract,
Reinstall motor and framework bolts.

Lube rollers with white lithium grease.
WD40 to window tracts ( I might use graphite next time.)

Window is working now.

Window switches were the first problem. Pulled them apart and used find sand paper to clean contacts. It also helps to know that the switches are in series - had to fix driver's and passenger's switches.

This is my first Porsche - maybe my last!

Thanks again,
al
