Continuation-It wasn't the heater clip. Checked it tonight. The air coming out the vents is barely cool, probably just regular air uncooled. Checked the temp of the air coming out the vents. Around 80 degrees. When I turn it over to heat, heat works fine. Updated to R134 July 07 with New condensor, compressor, dryer, low and high pressure valves, etc.--by a Porsche shop. When I run the AC a puddle of water appears on the ground underneath the car about where the console is located. I guess something, somewhere is getting cooled. Are you supposed to see anything in little round sight glass? I see nothing running or not. My low side pressure is around 40. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong? clutch on compressor engages. stays engaged-but air isn't cool.
I don't know if I did wrong but I held the needle in on the low side and let it bleed down to around 20. It was just air coming out I think. The air coming out wasn't wet. I then put a can of 134 in the system (AC and car running) to bring it up to 35. Still no change in temp. I know if it to an AC shop I'm gonna get a big hit in the wallet. Really can't afford that. Have any more suggestions? Thanks Last edited by thill944; 08-20-2009 at 08:25 PM.. |

I misread your water being on the ground. That is normal. What I read was water on the console. Getting late and mind going to sleep. LOL You might try the link below to ask for help. Larry
http://www.autoacforum.com/categories.cfm?catid=2 Hi thill 944, The water drip on the console is from a clogged evaporator pan drain tube. It is located behind the radio. Yes, you have to pull out the radio to reach a small rubber elbow about 2" long and a 1/2" in diameter. Run a wire up into the tube and where it goes out of the car. You might want to spray some Lysol to kill any mold and make it smell better. As for the other problem I have no idea. Cheers, Larry Last edited by Grandad#3; 08-20-2009 at 08:59 PM.. |
