Odd Clutch sticking
OK, I have replaced all 3 cylinders (slave, master, clutch slave) because i had the dead clutch pedal syndrome twice. In the last few days, I've noticed my pedal goes like half dead. It seems to only do it in reverse or 1st gear, when im first pulling out after my car has sat. And itdoesn't do it everytime. I checked brake fluid, it wasn't low. I'm not sure what could be causing this. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Re-bleed the slave cylinder again. I use a pressure bleeder and bleed from the bleed port (Tube fits over nipple) up thru the master cylinder. When all air bubbles stop, tighten the bleed port nut.

Took a look at it today, it's the hose that runs from the clutch master to the clutch slave. I messed with the connection a little and now it's totally shot. Is this hard to replace?

There are 2 Pieces--(thanks ballysdad)
Whic piece are you referring to? If it is the rubber part to the slave, it is a good idea to change it as it deterioates. GL John_AZ |

Well, there is a connector that hookd the hardline to the rubber part. It looks like that whole connector is just shot. When i push the clutch in it literally like explodes in all directions out from that connector. Not to mention the little nut that hooks them together is rusted and shot. So could I just get the rubber piece or do i need the whole things? Thanks!

The PET does not show a connector.
The hard line end fitting attaches to the hose end. The hose end does look like a connection when I just looked at my '87 but I think it is part of the rubber hose end. I do not have a loose hose to look at to make sure. John_AZ |

477 721 189A is the whole assembly, hose and hard tube. Easy to replace and a very good idea as the rubber seems to deteriorate quickly.
