Need a tb/wp job done in Toronto area

Hey guys... Lots of new faces here, that's for sure!

I'm going to bring the 944 back to life, but I don't have the time nor the space to do the job myself (or the confidence in my own abilities for that matter lol).. Anywho, I need someone to do a water pump and timing belt job done to my car... Nothing has gone wrong, this is just scheduled maintenance. I will supply you with all the parts as well as all the time you need to get the job done. I won't be driving it over the winter so if you want to take a couple months, you know do it when you have the time, that'd be cool with me...I need someone experienced, local, and who knows their stuff. Please let me know if you can, or know of someone (private or shop) that would be able to do my job...

If you were closer I would knock this out for you.

I am in the Toronto area as well, I do not trust anyone else but Refined Motorsports, Henry (the owner) specializes only in Porsches and worked in Stuttgart as well. Nobody else but him touches my car and he has fare prices.

I used refined motorsports too... Until they bulldozed it to the ground... Have they relocated?

hey speedracing944,
not to hijack, but

how about a timing, balance belt change in Antioch, IL? in the near future. Eh? lol. Mine haven't been done, and im not confident in myself enough to not screw it up. lol.
its a bit of a drive tho....

let me know,
-Ryan

Apparently, going by the topic title, I need my tv fixed too... That's the result of big thumbs on a small phone keyboard... lol

Ernie Jackubowski down at Mantis Automotive in Oakville knows 944's inside and out. He did quite a bit of work on my early car. He got me hooked on DE's as well. I'm not sure if I should thank or curse him for that...

They have relocated, they are in between Kipling and Islington on Evans Ave, he is in the back of what used to be an exotic car dealership.

although I have never had him work on my car I would recommend him as well.

Thanks a bunch guys... Been out of the 944 game for almost a couple years now.. What do you consider would be an average labour only price tag for a timing belt/water pump job? Still about a grand?

jpk 10-15-2009 05:48 PM

It shouldn't be much more than about 3hours labor; say $400-$500 ish. You should be able to get it done parts and labor for $1000.

That's what I like to hear... I just replaced 4 sets of rotors, pads, calipers on my Mazda... 1000 to have a perfectly working 944 would be much nicer than 1500 on a Mazda that can now stop.
