Can't you just get a new valve stem installed? Wouldn't an ordinary one work?

I had a leak in mine too. I took it to the tire place and they replaced it with a standard valve. This only makes it more difficult to deflate as you need to remove the valve stem.

According to the factory service manual, the spare should not be repaired.

also, i seriously doubt that the tire is safe anymore if it is the original one - they aren't all that safe when they are new anyway - they are only good for 50 miles and are NOT to be driven above about 50mph - all that is in the manual and i think on the tire

besides, that's 38lbs out of the car

repair

Thanks all:

I do have AAA.....gold card...LOL

just bought this spare and it leaks around the valve stem.

I wondered if you can break the bead?

If i carry it as a dummy could i slime it if needed?

Hate to send it to recycling.

Would
