Belt and roller job question

I got my belts off and the tensioner. So far found the tensioner roller and 3 others bad. The only good one is the one I replaced a few months ago.

Does the tensioner roller require lock tight or anything whne putting back on?? that thing was MUther to get the bolt out. I busted my vice loose off the bench and let alone the blood.............

It looks like my top blaance shaft was off one tooth. I had them checked at a local Porsche shop last year. Would you really notice one or two teeth off driving?

Now back to cleaning up the tensioner and all the black dirt (rubber) everywhere prior to the reassemble.

Disassembly really was not too bad. Easier than a Pontiac 2.4 DOHC.

No, but if you're paranoid, loctite blue (removable stength) wouldn't hurt.

One tooth no, two teeth maybe. It's worth perservering to get it as close as you can, though. I wouldn't leave it two teeth out, but that's me.

When I got my 83 na I had a bad vibration at 5 grand and above. Turns out my balance shafts were off a tooth. Took care of the problem and the car ran to redline just fine.

Well the BB was actually off 2 teeth. When it went back together ended up 1 tooth off. The wife was ready to go to a X-mas party and i was done working. Figured tomorrow if it runs bad I can fix it easy.

In the long run, had 4 out of 5 rollers bad.

The balance shaft was off? Whene I got mine I had one that was 180* out. Couldn't rev over 3500 due to vibration.
