Headliner and panel install

Hello,

I am getting ready to install the headliner, pillar vinyl, and quarter panels into my recently purchased 944 that was once a track car (interior was removed). Do I have to remove the rear window in order to install these or do I just need to remove the inner seal? I have fiddled with it a bit but I do not want to ruin anything. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi, I have never done this myself, but some say it is easier to take out the two rear side windows to replace the radio speakers. Make sure you have someone outside as you pull the seal away and push outward as it is all a one piece seal around the window. To replace the window after you have the interior back in , you put a small rope around the interior part of seal and hold both ends, this bows the seal toward the inside, as the outside person pushes the window in. Remove the rope and the seal should now be in place. I hope this is of help to you.

Cheers,
Larry

I believe Clark's has a write up on this. Some have done it with the windows in place but it takes patience. I changed mine with the windows out. Grandpa is correct on the removal / install of the windows. You need to 'rope' the windows in.
