I have the steering wheel and shaft retaining clip off. How do I get to the wiper switch out??? Are there more screws or clips to remove to get the switch housing out??

I've never done it, but I do have a Hayne's Manual... where in Orlando are you? I'm in Winter Park might be able to help.

Actually, I just moved to Tampa about a week ago. I did live in Metro West.
I did a search on this web a while back and found a procedure to remove the wiper switch but now I can't find it. DAMN IT! The Haynes manual only goes up to '89, mine is a 90 S2. I dunno, maybe it's the same. Any help would be appreciated. |

You have the wheel off and switch retaining plate, then there are 2 housing screws underneath the switch housing (no pic tho) ..then u separate the two housing halves and remove then from the column.... pry the electrical connectors off (careful!!! they break i hear) ....pull the assembly off the column...... three small plastic tabs hold the 2 halves together, pry with a screwdriver, careful... they are brittle and break easy
hope it's the same on your car |

I don't think it is the same. The housing looks to be one piece, but I'll go out and have another look, thanks.
(I don't know if it makes a difference, but the steering wheel has an air bag). |

No, the housing is all one piece that surrounds the steering shaft. The turn signal and cruise control are also attached to the one piece housing. It appears that it should just pull off as one unit, but I can't get it off, there must be something else that is holding it on.
