it's all about money; i knew thay would do something like this, even though they claimed they wouldn't drastically change the programming because it was successful.
but come on, 9 hours a day, that IS sick. i hope they take off the airplane & boat racing programming before they touch road racing.

That truly stinks! I have cable (with no Speedvision), and was considering moving to Satellite TV in order to get Speedvision.
Now, maybe I won't. I'll probably still get the satellite TV, but only becuase it is cheaper than cable. On the positive side for all you southerners: just think, from 3:00pm to midnight, the roads will be clear of all them dang rednecks with them rusty pickup trucks hogging the road. ![]() NASCAR TV: YUCK! -Zoltan. |

I don't think that they will be able to substain NASCAR TV from 3 to midnight for very long with out doing LOTS of reruns, and even the boys in the south won't be able to stand that much NASCAR over and over and over again.

For the most part, I agree... it's a real bummer.
However, since I rarely ever sit down and watch any of Speedvision's coverage at it's scheduled time, it's fine with me as long as they still cover "the good stuff" (i.e. F1, Rally, Porsche Supercup, Touring Car etc.) at some time. I will just continue to set my VCR and tape the programs that I want, and watch them when I have the time. I too would rather have them dump the plane and boat coverage in favor of automotive programming. Doing so will help ensure that "the good stuff" still gets enough airtime. So... here's my advice... Go to Speedvision.com, print out the week's/month's schedule, and set your VCR!! Not only do you still get to see what you want, but you can fast-forward through all the commercials!! Jim

Ouch Harsh! To me racing is racing. I watch for the competitive aspect of it. I don't particulary care for Nascar, but I do like to watch racing. And I'll take it in any form, bikes, cars, oval, F1. Domestic or Foreign. If you don't like it....Turn it off. Beats the heck out of the "Love Story Channel."

I never knew there were so many intelligent people on this planet!! I'm like the only guy around where I live that doesn't worship Nascar. I can't stand it when the fellas come over and say, "Put on the Nascar" - ahhhhhhhhh!!!
I don't watch a bunch of racing, but when I do, the last damn thing I want to see it Nascar. EVERYONE knows that people who watch Nascar only watch it in hopes of seeing a huge crash - how can anyone be entertained by the same thing over, and over, and over again?? Round and round they go - and still go, and keep going......again - ahhhhhhhhh!!! I asked a friend to explain to me the other day why Nascar speeds had to be soooo high. If they want to cut down on deaths and such - why no make all the cars go slower?? If they all have the same specs and race on the same track - what difference does it make if they are going 300 or 150?? It still would be exciting right? It would pretty much be the same thing, same battles, same display of skills, same winners (like it normally is - how many Nascar drivers are there really out there? I think there are about 6 and the rest of the guys are hired, like extras in a movie). So, if you slow it down, what would really change?...... I asked my friend. .........................I still have not received an answer. But I already knew the answer, I was just testing him. If you slow it down - then ain't nobody gonna crash and burn!! If they slow down Nascar, it would stop being popular. They slowed down F1 and it's popularity didn't change - just shows you who watches Nascar. By the way - did I mention I HATE NASCAR???? Also - I think all NBA games should be changed. They should give each team 100 points and let them play for 2 minutes. |

Bwahahahahahahahaha! That is the best idea I have heard since somebody suggested giving the linemen in NFL games swords and shields, putting mines randomly in the outfield for baseball games, and keeping hockey the same except with razor sharp blades on the bottom of the sticks and making decapitations/amputations during a match perfectly legal.

Everything has it's place and time. True...3 to midnight is too much time, but this too shall pass. I know how to work the remote so this doesn't bother me at all. I attended this year's Brickyard 400 here and wasn't overly impressed at all. But, like I said...
