Interior Removal
Ok, I am in the process of removing my head liner to swap into another body. But I can not seem to get the A-pillar interior piece off. I managed to get the bottom loose by removing the screws on the pillar. Even after that the top section will not budge.
Any ideas? |

You probably missed a screw. . .I did while strugging with that part.

I'm pretty certain there are only two screws for each A pillar piece. One in the center, and one up at the top by the sun visor attachment. The one up there actually goes in straight up and down, which is difficult to tell just by looking at the hole. Once you have the two screws out, you have to pry the trim piece off. On some cars, they seem to be really loose and will come right out. On others, they seem to have some sort of adhesive that makes them difficult to separate from the metal. A razor blade can be an effective tool for carefully separating the edge of the trim piece from the actual A-pillar itself. Once you get it started, you can then use a flat blade putty knife to carefully persuade it the rest of the way. The upper portion sort of tucks in under the two pieces that attach along the upper door sill and the windshield header, so you have to make sure that both of those pieces are removed or at least loose. Remove the top portion first, pulling it sort of down and toward you, which then allow you to slide it out from where it tucks down beside the dash.
