BAD cluncking 3rd to 2nd
Ok here is the deal 89 s2 with 75K miles.
new clutch with in last 3K ( dec 2009) VERY reputable private shop which always has 5-10 944 being worked on Ok I have been having louder than usual noise at low speed ( 2000-3000rpm) in 1st & 2nd when I have been letting off the gas and let the engine break the car But I took it back to the shop and was told all as A Ok I wrote it off to new sounds due to spring clutch vs rubber BTW the shop wrote it off to loose heat shield Now DE season is upon us so I took of the 16 rims with snows and put on the 17s with high performance summer I was in second coming down from 3rd clutch in, as in left foot down /disengaged, RPMs at 1000, speed 20 or 30 mph coasting up to a turn lifted my foot off the clutch and BANG, BANG sounded like and felt like wheel hop ?? I put the foot on the clutch and picked 3rd with no issue when I speed match/ heel toe/ blip the accelerator on down shifts /.... what ever you want to call it on down shifts, no issue no issue on any up-shifts no issue on any down shifts except 3 to 2 any advice ? ideas ? questions ? |

Don't know if i had the same problem but:
i have like a gla-gla-gla or zuu-zuu-zuu every time(not every time but near) i depress the pedal gas usually in 2,3 gear but sometimes in 5---i look the clutch, change the transmision oil, grease the JV joints....nothing I was near to change the transmission..... recently i broke the time belt(broken water pump),so i did a head job, front seals, timing, fidanza flywheel and see that one torque tube bearing is bed. i decide to change all the four bearings and the two inner ones are in terrible condition. strange:i don't heard any noise in neutral gear(torque tube bearing sinptom) Now the car is like new!No rattle, cluntch,is like fixed! So the torque tube bearing after 20/25 years are not perfect.... i hope you resolve your problem |
