On top of that I ordered the yellow adj koni's and upper strut bearings for the front and he told me these are much easier to install on my 85.5 as opposed to the later cars which was great news to me. He said no cutting, they just drop into the stock sleeves (I'll believe it when I see it) but I can't wait!! thanks for your input folks!
my Konis front dropped right in on my 85.5, no issues, old struts would not hold them selfs up when I pulled the top up is slowly dropped back down so the new ones where a vast improvement

That is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you!

I can't wait, I'm like a kid at Christmas all wound up waiting to open presents.

Porsche Crest accurate sway bar sizes and numbers

Just reading this post blew my mind. A lot of people out there talk about sway bar sizes but don't quite get it right, no matter what anyone says. To clear up a few misconceptions, lets look at the Porsche 944/968 options for the front bars to begin with.
944.343.707.00 - 20mm
944.343.707.01 - 21.5mm
944.343.706.00 - 23mm
944.343.706.02 - 24mm
944.343.706.04 - 25.5mm
944.343.706.05 - 26.8mm / M030 option for the 944 late series

944.343.706.30 - 30mm / M030 option for the 968 series

The Rothman's cars had different bars that were specific to Cup racing but that is another story.

oops I meant that I have 26.8mm in the front.

Yeah if you're car is pre 1987 the inserts should drop right in since those struts are made to have inserts. The reason those of us with '87+ cars have so much more trouble is because the struts are sealed which means they have to be modified.

Yes, THAT is the part that was confusing me. I saw Koni mod threads all over the place but never got to distinguish between the early and late difference. Thank you. It's cheesy, but everyday I learn something new about these cars, I love that.

I put the Koni Sports on the front with new mounts and installed the S2 sway bars and this car is a different animal, I love it. Drove it to work today which may be the last until the spring time. Thanks for the help folks
