Bidding farewell to a 4 year love affair, I will miss her... and a thank you...
Well guys, the time has come...
With my daily driver nearing 200,000 miles it was time for a new car. I must keep my explorer for recreation but i wanted something along the lines of the 944 to use as my new daily driver. If i had a 3 car garage I would not be selling the 944, but i cant keep the explorer outside and I refuse to put the 944 outside. I have such fond memories with this car. Im actually pretty sad writing this right now. Half the fun of owning this car was this message board, the kindness and grace, and patience of the people on it, who held my hand through uncertain times, gave me guidance and went out of their way to help me. Our 944 community is like no other. No matter what was going on in my life, i could drive that car, zip around twisties out in the country, shift through the gears, and it never failed to make me smile, lift my spirits and make my heart beat a little faster. The projects on her taught me collaboration here, patience, and always rewarded me with improved performance, smoothness and reliability. The car never...ever.... let me down... I am so grateful of having her in my life... I wish you guys the very best, and i wont be leaving, just changing 'forums' so i'll be sure to troll as i always have. special thanks to Vinny, VINMAN Jon, Techno Duck CJFusco especially Razorback1980, Tom... without all of you the car wouldnt have been half as much fun. Her replacement sits along side her now, 2011 328xi coupe the looks of the 944 really gives the BMW a run for its money... 22 years old, amazing... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ebay link ![]()

Wow, Kevin I cant believe your getting rid of her! Thats to bad.
Guys, I gotta say this car is probably the cleanest '44 I've ever seen. He takes very good care of it. If I had the room I'd snatch this up in a second. (I'm thinking of getting rid of mine too. I have just about 300,000 on mine) Good luck with the new Beemer! BTW, his last belt and roller job was done extremely well!

You have a beautiful car. Wish I had an extra $4k cause I'd pick it up in a heart beat. Good luck with the sale. You'll have to refer whoever buys it to this and the many other 944 forums.

Good to see my old friends here
![]() good luck with the 951 Jon, you should post some pictures of it in this thread id like to see the car its been a while. The 944 left tonight with its new owner... I think shes off to a good home, he seemed like someone eager to care for the car, willing to accept it for exactly what it is, how it is, and maintain her.i have to say, i had a knot in my chest watching him drive off, no one else has ever driven that car but me in the 4 going on 5 years i had her. I feel compelled to call him and remind him to tell him to "check the belts!" no driving in the rain! . Im happy that he is keeping the turbo twist wheels on the car, and im happy that he lives in town so maybe i'll still get to see it around. Thankfully it'll be garaged too.I gave him all my spare parts of collections of 'future spare parts' i thought id need as well as my manuals, CDs and told him about our forum here.. but i am going to sell my Arrnworx Timing belt tensioner maxi kit in the FS section here since that kit was pricey. lets see the 951 jon!
