84 944 sunroff seal - sunroof side

Apologize if you've seen this already but I posted here as well as Paint and Body...

Hopefully someone can lend some guidance. I just replaced the seal on my sunroof however now the sunroof doesnt seat well back into the roof of the car. There are areas where the sunroof is now higher than the roof. It is almost as if the seal is too big. I made sure the seal was seated firmly onto the sunroof and the seal is item # 944 564 114 01 purchased from Pelican......

Thanks for any input

I replaced the seal on my 84 as well. Is it sitting too high with the arms retracted or are they latched on to the panel? If it is water tight then it might just need some time to settle. Its kind of a pricey piece of rubber and metal to not fit right

It'll sit proud until the seal settles a bit, as stated. Well, mine did...

it is actually with the arms attached. The seal seems to be water tight and even seems to have settled a bit already. Thank you both.

I would say give it a week or two if its not leaking. Was the seal about 2 cm too long and you had to cut it? Just curious because mine was.

Had the same issue, replaced my seal a few months ago. It's settled some but still not flush. I'd give it some time.

One thing I did notice was that the arms do need to attach. Previously I could just get them close and everything was fine. Now I have to get them just right, and it will pull the sunroof down a bit, which helps.
