New guy with a question...

Hey guys/gals - new guy to the forum. Picked up my 1983 944 about a month ago and loving it! Gemini Gray over black with 96k miles on the odometer.

Now its time to start sorting out some minor issues.

The car is solid and straight, up to date on all maintenance. Belts, rollers and WP within the last 10k, as well as a new clutch. He installed Bilsteins and Turbo sways as well. She rides great. Original Gemini Grey paint shows some wear and tear, but no body or paint work. Interior is clean, he upgraded the front seats with 930 Sports (the original seats were tweed/cloth and worn)

Other than the basic tune up my first project is the hatch. It displays the common separation at the top seam. Today is the first time she has been out in the rain and i see minor leaking at one spot. I have a lead on a good hatch, hoping to grab it over the holidays. But, as a temporary fix what can i do? Run a thin bead of silicone in the crack? Maybe a band of black tape? Any thoughts?

Thanks for any feedback! looking forward to getting up to speed on the forums.

Your idea of silicon will be fine.
