Hatch release sprooiiing: cam gone.

So it was frosty this morning and as I tried to open the rear hatch, there was a bit of a sproioing noise and now...

The electric motor rotates but the motor driven cam that pulls on a cable that operates the release mech has gone. I don't know where. There is a cable with a loop, and a rotating motor, but no cam.

So what does this cam look like? As I assume mine has busted off, and dropped down a crevice somewhere. (I have searched for a decent picture and it's probably a stepped plate or lever, with a pin I expect, from the fuzzy images I have seen). Decent pic anyone?

I phoned the Porsche guys; they want £41 for a replacement cam. (?!!*&%) I said I'd make my own, but it would be helpful to know exactly what one looks like. Even better with a few dimensions. Especially whatever the pin radius is away from the fixing hole centre. (or center, as you folks spell it). So do I just need a bit of meccano?

cheers
Russell

I managed to get the hatch open and retrieve the parts. I've superglued it back together so it will either last three operations or outlive the car.

How can the stealership want the equivalent of $65 dollars for just over an inch of ally casting with a rivet post?

Beats me.
Anyone got one spare?

Cheers Rissole.
