need advice-air intake
Got my intake plenum off and looked inside---its caked with blackish crud. Question is??? 1) do I forget about it?, or, 2) clean it? If #2, what's the best way--process and products. Any advice is appreciated.

could just be some carbon deposits and dust, ignore it unless it's really really bad.
clean it how? get some "throttle body cleaner spray" for about $2 a can at an auto parts store. hose the inside with it... and i mean really hose it down with the stuff. then use some rags to thoroughly clean it. if you need something to scrub it with, use a regular cheapo kitchen sponge that comes in a pack of three for a dollar (no sense going out of your way because you'll want to chuck it out after scrubbing it against a dirty car part soaked in chemicals.. also, after using the throttle body cleaner spray, i often go over things once again with some nice degreaser. the one i use is called "Purple power" and it works really well. good luck! obin
