Is this the coolant temp switch for the cooling fan or...
...the component that tells the temp gauge the temp of the car?
Coolant Temperature Sending Unit, 944 thru 1/85 Coolant Temperature Sending Unit, 944 All from 2/85 ...if this is the coolant temp switch for the cooling fans i would need this one for my 87 944S right? Coolant Temperature Sending Unit, 944 thru 1/85

The car has TWO temp sending units. they are not the same switch. One sends temp info to the temp gauge in the car, the other sends temp info to the DME. They are both located in the engine head, right under the intake manifold. they are within 2 inches of each other. I don't remember off the top of my head which one is which.
If you needed to order one (why, is your temp gauge not working?), you would use the one from 2/85 on. they are completely different from the thermofan switch on the radiator.. AFJuvat |
