Dr side kik pannel removal?

How do i take off this panel? It has the hatch button and hood release on it. I see no screws? I am trying to remove the nut/stud inside the lower A piller for the "door stay base" . Got one bolt out but the other is spinning inside.

there is no access to the hardware for the doors from the inside of the car . the A-piller is boxed in . if its the (door check) that your referring to ? and that what your trying to remove you may have to remove the head of the bolt another way . you may want to try a rotary burr or a small cut off wheel to remove the bolt head .

That it. Except how do i replace it? I need to change the brocken base. I can't leave it with one bolt if the bolt/nutsert spins or falls in..

I had this same problem some time back. Search this forum on "944 door stay base replacement" and it should tell you what you need to know. I wouldn't bother trying to remove the panels becasue there is virtually no access to the top nut on the stay, I tried it. Cutting the head off of the cheeshead and installing a rivet nut worked very well for me.

you will have to replace the nut sert once you cut the head of the bolt off . you can either cut an access hole and weld a new nut on the back side or do a nut sert . is the captured nut in the A-piller spinning or is it that just the bolt is spinning in the captured nut ?if its just spinning in the nut sert ? after the head is off the bolt at times you can cut a slot for a flat blade screw driver in the top of the stud that is left and screw it rest of the old bolt into the A-piller and just let it fall to the bottom of the A-piller . then recut with a thread chaser . you may also be able to push a flat blade screw driver under the door check putting outward pressure on the old door check . this may be just enough pressure to hold the spinning captured nut in place for you to gat the bolt out ?

Seems the nutsert is spinning with only a little resistance. I may have to cut the head off and punch in the nutsert or drill it. Just hope the hole isn't to big after that.
