924 not burning fuel

Hey guys,

Got a 1981 EU 924 2.0 lux

Struggled with my fuel consumption for awhile now. Got an emisions test completed earlier CO2 perfect but HC levels are through the roof, turns out its misfiring and not burning fuel.

Changed the plugs, HD leads are new, cam belt changed and timing corrected. There are no visible signes of a fuel leak, just lost now.

Any ideas? Its been recommended that i change the lambada sensor but will this solve the problem???

Any help i would really appriciate

Damo.

Did you retest it after the tune? If not, drive it hard for about 5 miles, then check the spark plugs for rich, lean or just right. How old is the lamba sensor?

First steps to tuning CIS is ascertaining system and control pressure, and if both are in spec, adjusting idle mixture.

You're obviously running rich.
