So, it started with a cracked heater control valve and went down hill from there... I replaced that and then the thermostat seemed to be stuck, so that got replaced as well...
Now, the system is pressurizing through the resevoir/hoses and overheating after five minutes of running... I'm seriously about to pull out the shotgun because no amount of venting is helping and if it is the water pump, I'll have an 86 944 to part out. Any ideas and thinks will help and thank you guys in advance.

Because you said the system is pressurizing through the reservoir/hoses------you should do a leak down test to see if the head gasket is bad.
Compression-leakdown test Harbor Freight has a kit. GL John

You did bleed the air out after doing the T-stat? Another thing is that there are bad T-stats out there right out of the box. I bought one from the dealership and even tested it on the stovetop and it didn't open till well over 200 degrees and closed way too early. I didn't want to believe it was bad so I installed it. Sure enough, it ran in the upper 2/3rd of the water temp gauge.
