Here's some info for you. . .those things are butt-ugly!

If they are genuine (doubtful), they should be stamped on the inside with a number that looks like a Porsche part number, like 996.122.030.01

I got my doubt to & will be very surprise if they are guenuine, tend to agree with you that the (turbo twist) style wheel are not tthe best looking one for an S2 but again taste is something very variable and each individual has his own.____harry to give you an idea of what they will look like on your car here is an S2 or 951 with them on, Of course your car color could also make a difference, the other pic is off a 951 with 17" cup I on it.

I thought all the factory wheels were 1 piece. The ones on this car are factory.. I don't think those are, there should be marking on them one way or the other regardless

They're probably still 1 piece rims with the fake bolts to look otherwise.

If the wheels are straigth -no curb rash -decently prized & you like them,I'll say go ahead and buy them it's your car. They migth weigth a little more than an OE but so what, your not racing the car & if they do the job on the street good for you.By the way what color is your car?Send us pics if you can lol we are addicted to them here.May I suggest you enter car year-color-mods if any (go to User CP-edit signature) Also location use Edit Avatar. Thanks

Baz forgot to mention a + for those wheels are the painted Porsche logo center caps (very expensive if you have to buy them )so make sure they are well lock & can't wiggles out.

can anyone help, ive been researching wheels for a while, but there is so many choices to go for, and so many wheels that could fit on the 944 s2.
some people say dont touch 18" wheels as they can ruin the car, some say you can but only go 7.5" wide front and 9" wide rear. other websites say you can go up to a 11" wide rear at the back. im totally confused, every forum has 50% people saying 18" are bad and the other 50% say no worries. if you go for 18" but with low pro tyres and keep the overal diameter the same as oem would that be ok? any help would be great

Personally I'm balking at 18" wheels on our cars (you got an S2 I got a 968) which are pretty close suspension wise before modifying (mine is modified hence the 17x 8 frt 17x 9.5 rear) ,most peoples will upgrades their S2 from 16" to 17 x 7.5 front 17X 8 rear which by my book is the best combo for all around & spirit driving.Tires combo 225-45-zr17 frt / 255-40-zr-17 rear will give you enougth rubber to face any kind of driving condition (slow-fast- good road holding on curvy road & stability at very hight speed) .Upgrading your car to these wheels tires combo wouldn't be going over board ,road holding will improve nicely (which migth not be the case with an 18" wheel has lot of peoples found out)the important thing is to find the rigth wheels & tires which will fit your driving style & roads condition in your area. One thing peoples forget 90% of the time is that like a married couple, wheels-tires-suspension on any car have to get along together,so finding the rigth combo is a must.Take a look around there is very nice 17" either OE or aftermarket available for your car ,hope you find the one that work & you like.

ok ill take all that on board, i currently have a nice set of 17" cup 3 on the car with the tire combo 225-45-17 and 255-40-17 rear. maybe im best sticking to what i know works for me. my next question is that im planning lowering the car also, what set up have u gone for, i know many people just tweak the front end down 30mm with lowering springs. if i lower the car say this much am i best sticking with the 17" wheels

I'm running a Bilstein set up ( front adjustable struts w/special 968 va springs which I beleive are NLA-and an M030 sway bar - rear are bilstein sport (none coil over) wheels like mention 8x17-9.5x17 with falken 452 tires, size has mention in previous reply. The car is lower 11/2" front 3/4" rear.Even though this is a very well sort out suspension I'll recommend you go with Koni since Bilstein are on the stiff side specially for the street, the reason Bilstein are on the car is, it came with it & don't want to tampered with something I'm satisfied with.Don't fall in the trap of buying racing suspension parts or modifying your suspension to a point when driven on the street it will jares your bones apart. So bushings keep them OE -also no need for upper strut bar-Stainless steel brakes lines are a nice upgrades-calipers/rotors leave them has they are they're more than adequate to do the job. Save your money for the wheels & tires. The aim of this little exercise is trying to keep your car has OE as possible and make it a nice driver, and giving it an edge over other S2.May I suggest you contact those peoples Paragon Products - Porsche Parts & Accessories - Koni, Pagid, K&N, Bilstein, Racers Edge, Weltmeister, Porsche suspension, porsche brakes, 911 parts, 944 parts, 968 parts, 914 parts, 930 parts, boxster parts, cayman parts, 968, cayenne take the time to discuss your needs with them ,I'm sure they will come up with the rigth suspension combo for your car.Of course lol shopping around is permitted to.If need more infos on my set up click on my garage (Dream) there is pics there
