lsd gearbox ?
how can i tell if the transaxle in my 83 944 parts car is a standard or limited slip - someone is interested in buying it but wants to know if it's a limited slip - thanks in advance

Turn one wheel and see if the other turns. What three letters are stamped on the gearbox?

Check the stamped code on the top of the bellhousing:

lift the rear of the car and turn one wheel by hand. With an open diff the wheels will turn in opposite directions, with an lsd they will spin in the same direction
