Muffler colour 944 Turbo

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what the original factory colour was for 1989 944 Turbo rear muffler.

I'm looking at repainting mine. It looks black, but wanted to check first.

Cheers,

Geoff.

Black is what I was thinking. Can't really recall seeing any that were anything other than black.

Thanks for the reply.

The only other option I can think of is a stainless steel colour, ie. not painted at all.....but I'm thinking it should be black.

Cheers,

Geoff.

If it's shiny SS it's definitely aftermarket. But at this point I'm going to call it, at least in reference to OEM, and say: black is black. What I'm not sure of, or wasn't sure of, is if it is actually "paint", or not. It kinda reminds me of "anodized" type of finshes. Or do they only use that on aluminum?

Talking

¸^ You migth be rigth it does look like an "anodized" type finish & yes the tip is S/S oe on my 968 that I'm sure off.So it should be the same on a 951 ,different design maybe but same metal.
