Turbo Twist Fitment
Hi all,
Anyone have any thoughts on putting Porsche Turbo Twist wheels on a 85.5 NA? Sizes are 7X17, and 9X17. Thanks for your input. Jeff |

Your early car comes with 23.3 mm offset wheels and the Turbo Twists have the late offset....usually around 50 to 55 mm, which means you will need 25mm or 1" spacers to get the right fit in the fender wells. You car will look something like mine....

The aftermarket ones are about 5-7 lbs heavier than factory ones. However, they do come in 17" sizes with both 23.3 and 47mm offsets to fit early or late cars.

Danny is correct. It is very hard to find 17 inch wheels with the early offset. I am not using spacers.

Looks like Sway-a-way has them.
Cheap way is to get the factory 21mm spacers that came on the rear of '82-85 944NA. Then install longer studs. On the front, you'll need to grind a 30-degree bevel just beyond the centering lip to clear the bearing-cone. Last edited by DannoXYZ; 05-24-2011 at 05:55 PM.. |

heavy wheels
i hate that the left and right sides of the car look different because the wheels are all the same (one side coming and one side going) |
