Flat dish wheels
Is anyone else running flatdish wheels on their 944/924 ? Mine have no spacers etc, and I assume they were original on mine. I wonder if they would look good polished out? Anyone have a polished set?

They are on wife's 924t. They have kind of a gold anodizing & aren't polished. There are spacers on the rear.

Hummmm... Mine are platnium just like the Pelican icon for 928 catalog. A gold cast sounds interisting. P.o. may have pitched the rear spacers. How thick are they drew? Then again I can only remember pulling one rear wheel a while back. I pulled it to get a better look at leaking dual accumulators and noisy fuel pump. If the spacer had stuck to wheel or rotor in that instance I wouldn't have noticed.

By memory they are about 7/8" thick or 21 or 22mm.

Flat Dish
I'm using 16 in flat dish on my 87 924S. The proper offset for my car is 52.3 MM and the offset on these 928 wheels is 65MM. I got some cheapo 7/16 spacers that work okay. I think they look decent.
I've seen some polished flats and I think they look excellent. Bob Sams |

I am running 16 inch flat dish style wheels on my car. I dont think they have spacers. My wheels are 7's up front and 8's in the back. They are flared slightly at the edge where the air vents on the wheels are, not completely flat like 928 wheels. I believe they were a rare option on the 944S cars. I have seen them on several S cars, and on 1 turbo. Anyways, they are not polished, but I have seen them polished on 928s. I dont know, it looks alright, but im not a fan of polished wheels to begin with.

As I surfed the KC PCA site I stumbled across a pic of a 944 with pollished flats. My reaction was Eeeeew.
I'll stick with my stock finish.

Drew,
They're 16x7's all around and I'm running 205/50x16 Nitto 450's. Until I mounted the spacers, the best front camber adjustment possible was 0 deg. With the spacers, I run 3/4 deg negative. By the way, the Nitto's are okay if you're looking for the cheapest tire you can get. They are better in the rain. I'll get something else next time. Bob |
