Garage
stalled

After driving to the gas station for a drink, a 15 minute trip, i pulled in my long driveway with a steep hill i drive up in first. as i topped the hill the car just cut off while in neutral and the parking brake on ( i was taking a pic of my freshly washed car while the engine was still running) and wouldnt restart. i noticed a smell that resembled spray paint fumes. i had to roll start it and it started normally about 15 times afterwards. this is the second time this has happened. first time was after my short shifter bolt came out.

Might just try cleaning the connections on the starter. just be sure to disconect the positive and negative lead or you might weld that power wire to the body lol.

And since you have it off the car hopefully you have another vehicle to take it to a local autoparts store for free testing

Yes and go through batt. Cables and grounds real quick. I hate no workie.

Im thinking the smell may have been your starter winding melting.
