S2 owners, fuel mileage?
Most of my driving is around town, and on and off expressway for short runs. I suppose I'm also a little heavy footed. I'm getting sub 20 mpg on 93 octane (please, no discussions about octane). Curious what other S2 owners are getting.

It has been a long time since I measured, two years, but I used to get between 20-25. I don't have a normal commute, hence the range. I just rebuilt my head and resealed the whole top end, I am going to measure it again on this next tank. I just read in another thread that replacing the O2 sensor greatly improved someone gas mileage (owner of an S2, reported 27MPG!). If mine is 20 or less, I will try that. Another person mentioned the throttle positioning switch (TPS) and said that helped them a bunch (owner of an NA).

Painfully slowly. Got it as a rolling tub with the body done and everything in boxes. Between the other cars, a 4800 sq ft historic home restoration, and my own business that just passed year #1, the Pinin kinda gets neglected.

I've been averaging about 27-28 MPG. That's with occasionally taking the car up to redline and with a few 4k-5k rpm shifts. I used to have about 20-22 MPG and then I changed my O2 sensor and I noticed a difference (I barely passed emissions last time.)

Just took a trip up to DC and back (4 hours each way). 70ish mph w/AC on mixed with some in-town. Got 24.6 mpg. May be time for that O2 sensor for me too.

I get pretty much dead on 20mpg. Mix of round town and expressway driving. Maybe I need to check out the O2 sensor also, or maybe it's just my heavy right foot?

23.93 mpg. half of which was through SF city streets, half on the open roads in Northern CA. Also A/C about half the time. Fairly heavy footed after the car warmed up on the whole tank (happy to have it running again).
Trirod: which year? convertible? burning oil or any strange noises? I just re-sealed my top end, cleaned the intake ports and polished all the intake valves. I have slight leakage on cylinder no. 1 from the piston rings. Replaced a bad CV joint and checked all the bearings. I don't think there are any reasons for me to get 4 MPG less than others besides the O2, so I am considering doing my it if people are really getting 27-28. For me, it would pay for it self in 10 tanks, or about half a year. It doesn't appear to have ever been done by previous owners and I certainly never touched it.
