org staggered 15" Fuchs
I've got an late 85 944 with staggered Fuchs, 7" on front and 8" on back. I understand this was an option in 85, but I can't find what the original tire size was. It came to me with 215/60/15 on all 4 corners, but this doesn't make sense. Anyone shed some light on this??
Thanks, Gord. |
215/60/15 all around is indeed the correct factory sizing for those wheels.

I run 225's in back and 205's in front on my 83. When I got the car, it had 225's all the way around.

Thanks Eric, a picture is worth 1000 words (actually a digital picture is worth 1024 words), but this doesn't make sense. Why a wider wheel with the same tire?

It moves the contact patch out a little bit, puts different stresses on the sidewall [makes the tire do more of a \_/ shape on the wheel instead of (_) ], and most importantly the Porsche engineers say that's what belongs on there.
I've got a staggered set of wheels with 225's on all 4 cornes... I'd stick with the 215's. they're becoming a pain to find! |
