How much water flows through the sun roof drain?

I have had my current 944 for about 9 months now and have not had any water issues with it. I will say I get the occasional drops through the foot heaters when I wash it but over all not much. Any way the car is my DD and sits out side for most of its life. The other day we had a very big rain storm and I got in the car about 10 hours later, there was a 2 inch deep puddle of water behind the passenger seat. I though it came in through the foot vent and leaked back so I spent the weekend poking around upfront but the drain up there seemed to be fine.

Any way I had a cover for the car that I decided to start using and it has been on for the past week. The cover is not completely water proof but I figured it would help. Any way it rained last night into today, I get in the car this afternoon and there was some standing water, all be it less but it was there any way. So I decided to dig a bit deeper and found that Y splitter in the trunk was disconnected from the black hose and the short rubber hose had come off the more solid end hose. I reconnected every thing and now just have to wait for some rain.

On any note is it possible that all that water could have flown through those tiny hoses, does the sun roof gap even see that much water. It just seems like a lot for the area. I still think the water is coming in the front somewhere but that is a project for another day. If any one has seen this before feel free to give some input.

Regards
Dave

Pour a little water through the drains. Sometimes the hose can either come loose at the drain connection, or crack.
If it appears to be clogged, try to run a larger zip tie into the hole or if you have access to low pressure air, blow some through (5 or so psi at the most.).
