Airbag dash light?

I have a '91S2 which shares time with my C4 and Carrera... the (passenger side) airbag light is on, I'd prefer to eventually have it fixed. I've read up on how to disconnect only the passenger side or disconnect it all together but plan to have the bag fixed at some point... and while noodling the problem thought of a temporary way to turn the darn "!" light off... I know this would turn off the light for everything, but could a simple temporary solution be to take the bulb out that's behing the "!"? Pretty easy to pull the cluster out, don't remember how accessible the bulb is. Thoughts? Anyone know of a Baltimore shop that has the Hammer tool? My mechanic (SSI Auto) does not. Thanks, Jon

If you want a temporary solution you can disconnect the air bag rigth at the brain & jump the six pins connector as seen in the pic.Jumper will go between 3 & 4 on the female side,if you do go with the jumper method make sure it's securely install.Why because if it get loose & lost contact your fuel pump will quit on you.Be aware that by doing so both your air bags will be out. But the air bag ligth won't come on & all other ligths will be operative.Also if you could get hold of someone with a Bosch Hammer tool they could reset that ligth for you you.Btw taking the bulb out is not the best solution.
