2011/12 Porsches in the Snow Thread

It seems like there's some kind of "Porsches in the snow" thread every year. So this year since Connecticut got a very very early snow storm I thought I'd be the one to start it.

I just bought this 944 from a fellow Rennlister and I don't intend on purposely driving it in the snow all winter but today I got caught in the snow on my way home. Luckily it didn't get too bad until I made it home because I have a set of "shaved" (alright I'll admit it they're balding) Falken Azenis RT-615k's on my car.

So post pictures of your P-cars in the snow all winter.

It's a little bit early to start this winter's sno-pix thread (winter is still 2 months away!). But since I do have snow on both of mine right now, I did take a pic on this thread's behalf. There is a tarped motorcycle parked between them. Since I have had problems uploading pics previously, this post is also a test to see if it works now. Here goes...

Argh!!!!!!!!!! No good. When I start the upload, after maybe half a minute, the upload window disappears, but the pic fails to show up in the post. Retries don't fair any better. I'm running firefox (64-bit nightly build, just updated a few minutes ago) with adblock and noscript installed. Oh, and my router is set to block active-X controls. But I don't see where that would matter, because the firefox browzer doesn't support them anyways. Everything else on this site seems to work OK.

Does anyone know how to make my configuration work for uploading pics to this site?

EDIT: OK, after I closed the browser session, I saw that there was a window behind it that said this:

1 file(s) moved. convert.exe: Corrupt JPEG data: 11 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9 `d:\pelicanbbs\cgi-bin\vb2007\uploads19\PICT00091319995969.jpg-TEMP'.
Note: If you can see this message, you have a problem with your browser, or your security settings are set too high. To manually place this image into your post, copy the following into the large Reply box open in the window underneath this one.

They don't really look so great right now, but at least the "manual" pic upload did work. I suppose I can handle going that route, if that's what I need to do.

My Pcars aren't allowed to play in the snow. I wouldn't feel right about driving them in the salt.

The lack of tracks indicates the 951 was NOT out on the road in the sh-now.

But the thing I did miss about it was goin' 4-wheelin' in it in my Chevy Tracker. Snow beats mud every time, in my book. And after tossing a few back on the day it was falling, I came to the (wrong, in hindsight) conclusion that I needed to take advantage of it before it went away. I ended up going somewhere that I should not have gone, and got stuck. It took several hours to get it out. But that isn't the worst of it. While we were setting up to winch it out, my buddy took a hell of a blow to the head from the back door with a full-size spare mounted on it. The tracker was facing downhill into a creek bed, and I was using my back to keep the rear barn-style door fully opened ,so I could hold the light for him as he was getting the winch out to hook it up to the ball hitch. When he said he was ready to hook it up to the end of the chain, which was already attached to a tree, I said: "I'll get it", and absentmindedly stepped away from the back door that my back was holding. Then I heard the "whack", followed by a yelp, before I could fully turn back around. No crushed digits or limbs, but he was looking down at the time, never saw it coming, and took it square on the head. I regret having to say this (my true regret is that it ever happened), but let me just say that nobody looks good wearing a neck brace.
