Baby seat in the back seat fit?
Hey everybody
I've recently gotten married (Thank you very much) and was wondering if I would need to start thinking about alternative transportation to my 944 when our family starts to grow. If there's a baby seat that fits nicely in the back, which one is it? Also, is there a kit to fit a three point harness in the back? Perhaps I could fit my baby seat in the front seat and my wife can sit in the back. Of course this isn't our only car. We generally use the 330i, but I'd like to have the capability to use my 944 for short trips if needed. I grew up getting into the back seat of small coupes, and just laugh when people tell me I need an SUV. It's funny how people believe what a commercial tells them.

I used a booster seat. Took a sharp razor knife and trimmed the sides down to fit in the rear. Worked great. My little girl is seven now, and doesn't like riding in my current 944 because with no back seats she must use the racing seats & 5-point harness, and can't see out the window.

Sure the baby seat will fit -- but then there is no room for the baby!! Al my kids are beyond booster age and can see out the window. They take a ride ANY time they can get it -- grins everywhere!

Do you have any pics? I don't know what the laws are in other states, but in California, I think an approved baby/child seat is required. Thanks everybody

I have a carseat in my 944. I went to Toys r' Us and got a "carseat expert" to look at my back seat, then had her try out several seats until she found one that fit. Now that my kid is getting a little older I am thinking of having some sort of harnes installed and using a booster seat with it. She is running out of room back there now.

Dude, check some p-car mags, someone makes a baby seat for the 44's. The bad news is that it's like 300 something beans.

We are on our second kid. I haven't tried them in either car though(many reasons). But we have several different seats. I don't see how any of the rear facing infant seats will work. When they get old enough to face forward you my be in business. The narrowest ones that we have are Recaros. They sound expensive but they are not and they have one of the best side protection. I would at least check them out.. and they look cool.

Hello,
same reply as other post: Britax seat. The model name is Prince, and is ok for children up to 4 years or 18Kg. Homologated also for 2 points belt. |

Looks like on the Britax website that the Prince is not sold in the US?
