Collapsable Spare - I'm Stumped!
I have owned 944's since 1986 and currently have 10 of them. I recently got one that had the spare inflated. Is there a way to recollapse the spare tire? I have tried a couple of thing but have not had any success.

one of those hand pump/brake bleeders rigged up to schrader or more low tech, use a tie down strap around the OD of the tire, keep sinching it down with the valve open.

All I had to do was to let the air out of it, it collapsed back to original form without any issues. Maybe yours has the rubber that is more brittle.

It is an aluminum spare in an '88 Turbo S. I carry fix a flat in case I get a flat...the spare is just for show.

The PO may have inflated the spare with fix-a-flat or something similar(since the original compressors are almost always gone). If that is the case, all the goop inside may prevent the tire from collapsing.
