Cool Need help with the horn...

I need some help... We have a 84 944 and need to know why the horn wont blow when you press on the button, but will when the alarm is activated. You can hear the relay clicking when you press the horn button , but no honking. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you inspected all the wires at the horns to make sure none of them were cut or disconnected?

Ok,, I have found out that we have tried a new relay and checked the wiring, and he said that it still is a no go. Any other suggestions. Does the horn the alarm circuit, maybe it could be reason it wont let the horn blow.

Ok guys correct me if I am wrong but I think the alarm has its own horn. Looking at the haynes manual it seems to back this up. Shows a sepperate location for a single alarm horn and a differnt location for the two main horns.

SO if this is correct I would say the alarm has nothing to do with your problem.

Have you shorted the horn to the battery to see if they are any good? Maybe you just have bad horns.

Eric

If you hear a click I don't think it's the relay. I'd bet the horns are just bad. They can get a lot of crap in them over the years due to where they are installed.

The alarm has its own horn, it doesn't look like the horns under the car.

Thanks everyone that gave suggestions. We have got the problem fixed. We did not realize that there were separate horns , found a cut wire on one of them.
