1986 n/a 944 vacuum line size

Does anyone know what size vacuum lines are running all over the engine? 3.5 ID?
Mine look like they are all original. Would switching to silicone be recommended? And does anybody know the approximate footage needed (Guesstimate)
Thanks

Just replace it all with the silicon kits that everyone has. Includes the correct number of T's that you need too. Under $40 shipped

You need the 3.5mm diameter line. The LR kit is pretty reasonably priced.

May be able to just replace the aging connectors

On my machine the vacuum hard lines are still in excellent shape even though original. But the rubber connectors "Y" & 90-degree connectors were starting to show age. If you want to keep an original look and feel: here at Pelican one can get new rubber connectors: "Y"= $4 each 928-573-727-02-M269 & the 90-deg elbow ones are $3.25 each 928-574-717-02-M58. Or on the parts page search "vacuum connectors". Porsche left these plastic "hard lines" draped on hot metal in many places so I tied them up to where there was air 360-degrees around them and where there were rub spots I enclosed them in old rubber hose to protect them (slit the old rubber hose lengthwise and "snap" it onto the vacuum line to prevent rubbing or chafing. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Good luck and have fun.
