I found a 924......
I found a 924 sitting in a field, not sure what year or if it even runs, or what the body looks like up close, but a friend of mine knows the guy that owns it and I can get it probably real cheap. the reason why I put this on here, because I was wondering if anybody needed any type of parts for a 924. Trying to figure out if i want to buy this thing or not.
TIA

find out what it is first. Likely you can get it for free. I can help you part it or restore it depending on what it is and what you want to do with it. I would take it if it was not as far as you could get from me. Eric

I currently know of about 6 early 924's just sitting and rotting in peoples yards here in Coos Bay/North Bend, OR. One guy wanted $1,900 for a 77 924 that didn't run and had a horrible paint job. I told him he was high. I just found out yesterday from my mechanic that there is some guy here in North Bend selling his 1977 911S with 87,000 original miles for just $5,000. Seems to be in pretty good shape. I would buy it but my wife would kill me.

Just for those who do not know. A 1977 924 with horrible paint and non-running engine is worth NADA. I am a 924 lover and would take it off the guys hands for free... but a 1982 924 (last year in USA) in mint condition is only worth about $4300 or so. So take an older car with 4 speeed trans with bad paint and needs engine work... also if it has been sitting in field it likely needs suspension parts and all new brakes..... Price to tow it out is all you should pay for such a car.
Just so those who do not know don't make the wrong decision. There are to many decent ones you can get for $1000-$1500 to spend any where near that for a junker.... oooh did I say that about a Porsche.... Eric
