Having tailight issues! Driver side!

Hey guys this weekend I got some more sockets for the tailights to add more visibility in the back. So I added the extra socket and spliced the wire and hooked em up together and for some reason it didn't work! And I tried several bulbs, I took one off the blinker and tried it and did not work, and put it back on the blinker socket and worked fine! So I removed the splice connection and bridge connection and now it won't work like that even. And the passenger side works. I have tried to do the mod on the pass side yet. Did I do something wrong? I checked all the fuses and they r all fine. So I unplugged the main connector and tested for power. And there is no power when I have driving lights on. Only blinker, brake, and reverse have power, but no driving lights. And it was workining perfectly fine before! What has happened!? How do I fix it??? Help!!

This is the connection I made.

Sounds like you have disturbed/disconnected a wire when moving them around - Our older wires can come apart easier because of age. Check all wiring for continuity.

Maybe even your new blue splicer cut the wire so neither wire has power now.

But my connection doesn't work AT ALL. Where should I check for this exactly??

Where'd U get the sockets?

Off of another 944. I got the light assembly at a swap meet.

Take apart that new blue connector to see if the problem is in there - Next check that power wire with a volt/ohm meter to see if it still has power, check before the new blue splicer. If no power there check back further until you find power and the break.

Yeah I tried. There's no power coming from the main wire anymore. I checked the main plug also and no power..how far does that wire go???

Does the passenger side have power to the tail light ? If so you may have to splice in a wire from that side and run a new wire over to the driver's tail light.

Have you checked the bulbs yet ?? What if they are at fault ?

Yes the passenger side works perfectly. That's actually not a bad idea! If everything else fails I will do that!

And yes I have. I used the same bulb as the blinker. I removed it from blinker slot and placed it in driving light spot and it doesn't work l, put it back on blinker slot and it works perfectly..

Fixed! Turned out the plug itself was bad so I just cut it before the plug and direct connected it. And now it works! And I also got those T connector dealios. Check it out guys!

Yes a lot better. And don't forget to mention 924's! And I know this may sound a bit river cheesy or childish, but then again I am 16..and I'm entering it in shows a lot and I wanted to go strobe on the lights. So I added strobe lights in the fog lights and reverse lights. Just ask if u guys want to watch a vid. I have it all ready, just need to post it on here if wished upon.
