R.I.P. Ferdinand Porsche, you did great things.:(

RIP Butzi

Keep in mind he isn't the Ferdinand Porsche (his grandfather) or the other Ferdinand Porsche (Ferry, his father)

Butzi came up with the shape of the original SWB 911. He is also listed on the patent for the targa.

Yes this is true, he did design the 911 which in its own was an awesome design. The early 911 is the car my wife loves but I still would rather have my 1983 944 over all. I just love everything about this car.

I read somewhere that Butzi Porsche quit the company after they told him the 928 would replace the 911 as the top end car.

Didn't everyone named Porsche get kicked out around '72?

I have read that the family pulled out in 1972 when the company merged but now I can't find the details.

I don't know about that...

Quite a shame. R.I.P. Butzi. What a car.

And is versatile enough to win rallies, desert races and circuit races. What other car can do that? None. And multiple times? Over 30 years?

A sculpture, symphony, winner, challenge and hobby which has stood the test of politics and time.

Rest In Peace.
