Stranded at Tim hortons...

Cranks but no start. Procedure for checking fuel pump? Luckily I'm close to home-ish.

Update: After it sat for a bit, it fired up. Turned it off, tried again and it wouldn't start. Waited for a while again, started up and drove it home no problem.

Funny that you should mention being stranded....the wife and I went for the first coffee run of the season and got stranded at the McDonalds in Gatineau-Hull! Two nice ladies showed up with booster cables and gave me a boost. Problem was with the alternator and it wasn't charging enough apparently, and so as I got back into downtown Ottawa, the car died on me. Fortunately, I had applied for the classic Porsche cars road side assistance available to the first 1500 applicants. They were nice enough to allow a tow to my mechanic which was 38 km away, instead of just to the dealership. Haha am I ever glad that I signed up for that free road side assistance. Needless to say it was an eventful first Porsche run for the season!

That sounds an awful lot like vapour lock on the fuel line.

Joe Namath: Excuse me, son.
Bart: Wow! Joe Namath!
Joe Namath: Thats right. My car broke down in front of your house.
Bart: I cannot believe you are here! Do you think maybe you could give
me some pointers?
Joe Namath: Sure! Theres only one thing you need to know to be a great
quarterback.
Mrs Namath: Joe, hunny, I fixed it! It was just vapor lock!
Joe Namath: OK, look, I've gotta run. Remember what I told you!

You know Simpsons quotes like I know Seinfeld quotes.

Did some homework. Going to look into the DME relay. Thoughts?

I signed up for the same thing. How long did it take for them to arrive?

Solved. Replaced DME relay as per forum research. Thanks. Those things seem to be pretty reliable. Considering mine is stamped 05/05/86.

mhr, it took them about 40 to 45 minutes to show up with the flat bed
